It's An 80's Revival!

No - no - We're not trying to bring back the 80's. You don't need to get out your cassette tapes or leg warmers (unless that's your thing, of course!).

But we did find this wedding dress in a vintage shop... It was ssoooo 80's - we're talking piles of sequins and a HUGE butt bow. It was a whole $25 for the dress. But that's a ton of material on bridal model Jeanette. Yards and yards of perfectly workable fabric, lace and trim for a steal at only $25.

Enter the ultimate idea to green your wedding dress - recycling an old gown into something new. We employed local talent, Barbara Deckert, a couture gown designer based in Howard County, Md. and challenged her to take the 80's gown and make it into something high-end, breathtaking and very now.

Barbara accepted the challenge... here she is with Jeanette, getting started on the project.

Wanna see the finished result?

Watch for Jeanette in the recycled 80's gown on the catwalk in the Aveda Institute Eco-Fashion Show!
